The Foundation for Free Enterprise Education recognizes Glenn O. Hawbaker, Inc. as a 2021 Founder's Club member, the highest honor annually accorded for supporting companies and organizations.
Every year highway construction workers are injured and killed while plying their trade in a work zone. While many of these incidents are caused by the motoring public, many of them are also caused by fellow employees operating construction equipment/vehicles.
Glenn O. Hawbaker, Inc. today announced it raised $85,483 for area charities during its 29th annual Glenn O. Hawbaker Charity Golf Outing. Held July 17 at White Deer Golf Course, all proceeds are being donated to: Skills of Central PA, YMCA Northcentral PA, UPMC Susquehanna Foundation and Port Matilda Emergency Medical Services.
Under the joint venture with Barton Malow and Alexander Construction, Glenn O. Hawbaker, Inc. completed the Beaver Stadium Gate E expansion project right before the Nittany Lions’ first game of the season. GOH had a very tight frame to finish the project in time for the September 4th home football game. However, time wasn’t the only challenge. Trying to match the existing Mechanically Stabilized Earth (MSE) retaining wall with new material proved to be quite a feat as well.
We are pleased to announce that, effective August 30, 2021, PJ Connolly has been promoted into the role of VP Construction – Central Region.
With the 2020 season behind us and the start of the 2021 season kicking off a sense of normalcy has returned to the Venango 8 job. The start of the second year of this two-year project went as well as could be expected starting any construction project.
GOH is currently working on a $1.25 Million project at the Williamsport Regional Airport in Montoursville, Lycoming County, PA. The general work scope of the project consists of the reconstruction of the existing Taxiway C between Runway 12-30 and Runway 9-27.
On October 22, 2020, Hawbaker was awarded a $2.9 million contract to turn an existing railroad bridge over the West Branch of the Susquehanna River into a pedestrian walking trail.
